Which gives the lie to the old saying that sharks won't touch

It was once made by digging down a gutted shark in the beach gravel, and
then digging it up several months later. Then it is air dried cut out in
big chunks. Now it is fermented in plastic barrels, but the taste is the
same. It is something in between really wild cheese and strong licorice
pastils.
