I don't keep up as well as I should; sometimes it's better to let the

Sounds like a good idea. I generally just do a bit at a time.

And it can be deadly. That's why I try to shut down as much as I can
whenever I get bronchitis or similar--to conserve my strength for

Sunnies or sun fish are common names; I couldn't describe one to you now
but I have seen them.

That sounds like fun. In the days of bigger cars, it was easier to do.

OTOH, it was pretty dull around our place most week ends.  Your story
reminds me of one time while we were still in AZ--my mom's sister and a
couple of her friends (who asked the girls to address them as aunt, even
tho they weren't, biologically) came to visit us.  They stayed in a
local hotel Friday night and came over Saturday morning. When the girls
saw them coming, one of them (I'm pretty sure it was Deborah) said
something on the order of "here comes the a(u)nt farm!".  It was all we
could do to keep from cracking up too bad in front of the 3 older women.

Us kids always had to stay in the car and, IIRC, we had to park a bit
away from the bakery.

Yes, I know.  The area around where I grew up had a lot of those hotels
too; a lot of them burned down in the 60s under suspicious circumstances
tho. But, I know my mom went to a librarieans conference one year at
Grossingers.

Mom and Dad didn't do such things with the 5 of us kids. Besides,
Monticello was too close to home--where they wanted to get to and get
unpacked/ready for school the next day.
