I know, I nursed both of mine--Rachel to a year, Deborah to 18 months.
My mom claims she nursed all of us 6 months but has written in my baby
book that I was on cow's milk entirely by Election Day.  There's no 6
months between July 21 and (November) Election Day!  She went against
the norm of the day nursing us kids; Steve's mom raised all of hers on
the bottle.

Always something. We've got friends who have a son 2 years younger than
Deborah.  He's had/has all sorts of allergies since birth, including soy
and peanuts. You can't even pass a peanut near him without him almost
going into anaphylactic shock.  Deborah used to feel sorry for him
because he couldn't have a pb&j sandwich.

I know, but movies don't show the lack of sanitation and other problems
associated with pure beach living.

It grew on us; we were't thrilled with it the first few years but now
love the area.

We've escaped those so far. The sugar refinery  explosion/fire is enough
distance away from us that we're not directly affected either--but know
people who know ones that work there.
