A home is different. I don't enjoy sharing bathroom
facilities with complete strangers, though. Cooties,
you know.

Well, we're still planning for 2009, we'll start worrying
about 2010 in 2010. Speaking of 2009, where should I go for
September 11? There was a TERRIFIC fare to Hawaii, but I
missed out on it. I may just cash in some more miles and
fly around randomly as I did in 2003, when I had a gig on
the evening of 9-10 and another on the evening of 9-11 so
got up early early and flew Boston-Washington-Philly-
Pittsburgh-Boston and got back to the theater in plenty of
time for my show.

I encourage everyone to fly on 9-11, just because. I will
attempt to fly every 9-11 for the rest of my life, and not
just because I like to fly around.

I think I'll stick with the Blue Coral Motel, which just happens
to be right near the Sugar N Spice Go Go Bar. My kind of places,
sounds like! Remind me not to bring the laptop or hope for free
wi-fi.

I'm not, other than warning about Lynn (Massachusetts, that is,
not Sacerdote), because up on the north shore there are few if
any "where to avoid" places. Please note that the first stop on
the Clam Crawl this year is going to be in Lynn, Massachusetts.

COASTAL SPANISH PAELLA
cat: not Spanish, rice
servings: 4

1 pk (6.8 oz.) Spanish rice mix
14-1/2 oz canned tomatoes
2 Tb olive oil
1/4 c yellow onions, cut into thin wedges
1 green bell pepper, sliced
6 oz cooked, shelled shrimp
8 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 c frozen peas
2 Tb lemon juice
1 tomato, cut into wedges
16 in-shell mussels, optional
16 in-shell clams, optional

In large saucepan, prepare rice mix with tomatoes as
package directs, but omit margarine and use 1 Tb olive oil
to brown rice mixture. Saute onion and pepper in 1 Tb
olive oil until tender. Add shrimp and garlic. Saute 3 min
longer over med heat. Add with peas and lemon juice to
rice. Cook just until peas are hot. Serve topped with
tomato wedges and optional shellfish (see below).

Optional: Place mussels and clams in saucepan with a bit of
water. Cover, bring to boil. Cook until shells open, about 5 min.
