I don't have any interest in checking out such a place actually.

I'm not keen on fake old places, being old enough to remember the
real thing. But people of Neekha's or even Ray's generation get a
kick out of them. My last encounter would have been a breakfast in
Ottawa about 5 years ago at a Rockin' Johnny's Diner, a Canadian
knockoff of Johnny Rocket's. The waitress looked and acted like
Kelly Bundy and the food was OK for the price. Early bird breakfasts
were $3.99 with unlimited coffee as I recall. My ride had just
picked me up after taking the red eye from Edmonton and I was
ravenous for hearty greasy food, rather like a drunk lurching into
Denny's at 3 AM. He choose well.

Or just order it quickly and unhesitatingly and see what you get!

This was my last drink (and the only one possible) before the recent
replenishing run.

           Ice
      3 oz dry vermouth 
    1/2 oz creme de cassis, to taste
           chilled club soda

Fill a 10-ounce Collins glass with ice. Add: 3 ounces dry vermouth
(Noilly Prat, Martini & Rossi, or Vya are all good choices). 1/2
ounce creme de cassis, to taste. Top with chilled club soda. Serve
with a straw, sunglasses, and a fresh outlook on life.
