I did for a while but adjusted. Actually I just tapered down my
consumption as I used up the inventory, from four drinks a night (my
marital limit, remember?) to one a weekend. We should ask Kevin to
try an alcohol free quarter and see what he thinks of the concept!

American jugs are 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon but ours are now just 1.5 L or 3
L. I bought a 1.5 L cute little jug of that cheap red.

Franzi is here too, for about a buck more. Rossi doesn't have a
range; it is part of the huge Gallo product range which goes from
Thunderbird fortified Wino wine up to the lower mid range in
quality. Rossi is near the bottom of the spectrum but drinkable.

Our gov't does not charge markup but a flat tax on the absolute
alcohol content. So a $6 bottle costs $12 but a $30 bottle is only
$36 which encourages one, at least in theory, to drink less but
enjoy higher quality.

The Powers That Be view it not as an essential food group but as
something vaguely evil that they can attach a sin tax to
with impunity. And it funds free medicare. When I turn 60 in a few
months I'll be an Elder and I also get free dental as well.

In theory, because each province collects its own excise, there is
not supposed to be any inter-provincial transportation but unlike
national borders this is not policed. So I always fill the trunk of
the car with as many cases as it will hold on a road trip to Alberta.

No maples up here! I have toyed with making both wine and beer from
kits and concentrates but I would need a clean room. Roslind's
barber chair takes up the second bedroom and Neekha the third as she
lives here 4 days out of 7.

I could try that too in theory.
