Our local Asian Grocery has done similar here.  They are just not buying much
from China at all, and swapping in various goodies from Korea, more from the
Philipennes, and Thailand.  A lot of what they have that is 'chinese' is
actually made in the USA and those products are still sold.  Lots more
Japanese stuff showing up!

It's funny but there's 2 ladies and a gentleman who seem to run a schedule
close to mine.  They are often there at the same time shopping as i am.  The
2 ladies (sisters) are cambodian and he's Thai.  Very minimal english except
for a few common greetings and some food words.  I helped them (and the shop
keep) with a few of the Japanese products and what they were 'replacements'
for from the China lines now gone.  We swap recipes by showing what jars or
bottles go with what things.  The Thai fellow helped me pick out a mustard
seed powder (a brown seed base with a little annato added for color).  It was
a Thai product and he was reading the Thai label, with me the engrish sticker
;-)  He pointed to the wasabi and grinned, then pointed tot he powdered
mustard and started fanning his tounge.  Pretty clear to me!

When we got to the ramen bowls, most China ones were gone so I was able to
pick out the super hot Japanese ones for him (tounge fanning at various
speeds to show which were which).  Thats the one the shopkeeper was
interested in and added a label below to indicate which ones of the set that
just said 'spicy' in engrish, were suitably hot for their Thai customers.

We broke one out and made it so they could see.  It's the one you adjust the
heat level of with the oil looking packet.  It's  a pure and very HOT red
chile oil.  Same as the one you find in Japan noodle huts in the small pour
jar.  (MLoo's probably seen that on his travels).

Here's the last recipe of my own that was on the backup.

      Title: Black-Eye Salad, xxcarol adaption
 Categories: Beans, Xxcarol
      Yield: 8 Servings
 
      2 c  Cooked black-eyed peas
      8 oz Marinated artichoke hearts
      1 c  Sliced raw daikon, sweet end
    1/2 c  Sliced white and green leek
    1/8 c  Olive oil
    1/8 c  Jufran bannana sauce (hot)
 
  Put beans In bowl and drizzle artichoke marinade over them. Cut
  hearts to bite size and add the rest.  Mix gently and serve!
  
  This is one of my 'new to me' foods and we all loved it! The original
  used bottled french dressing, green onions and radish.
