Doubt it - seems to be the ideal situation, as Mr. Sauce Fiend
could go off and find some with more of it.

Under normal circumstances, great globs of fat are appealing
to me. That's if I've been exercising or in cold weather or
been food deprived. Playing music counts as exercise. Today,
though, I was having my wheezing thing and could hardly move
all day, and I left all the fat on my beef spare rib bones at
lunch and my ribeye at supper.

How about asking for "not too fatty" the way I ask for "not too
lean"?

Right you are. I don't bother with roast chicken unless I do
it myself or if it's at one of those restaurants that charges
$30 for less than half a bird, and the only reason I order it
there is because I can't afford the beef.

Mechado - Beef Stew with a Wick
cat: filipino, main
serves: 4 to 6

3 lb lean beef (rolled roast, chuck steak, etc.)
1 lemon, juice of
5 Tb soy sauce
2 strips bacon
1 bay leaf
8 oz tomato sauce
3 Tb sherry
3 cloves crushed garlic
salt to taste
2 c water
3 Tb flour
2 Tb butter
1 ts chopped pimento
4 lg onions, quartered
6 potatoes, quartered

M's note. I don't know what the Wick refers to.

Marinate beef in lemon juice and soy sauce. Make 2 lengthwise
slits in the meat and insert the bacon strips. In a large pot,
brown the meat, then add the bay leaf, tomato sauce, marinade,
sherry, garlic, salt, and water. Cover the pot and simmer
until the beef is tender. Remove meat and slice. Thicken sauce
with flour and butter. Add pimento, onions, and potatoes with
the meat to the thickened sauce. Serve hot.
