Thats the sort I learned from Mom.  I dont think she knew about the other
sort.  Mom was last of the 'monied generation' of her branch of the Phillips
(read steel etc).  They survived the 1929 stock crash but substantially
reduced.  Mom was raised as if they still had over 2Million (1930 stats for
that).  Lets just say when Mom tossed a 'Tea Party' it was with 150 year old
china.  She taught us how to handle such with simple elegance as kids and
even if i don't use such in normal eating, I know how to do it and which fork
to use when etc.

Yup, matches well enough for me.

It was shocking on return.  I suppose it was creaping up when I was here but
the difference 2001 to 2007 made is really noticible if you've been away.

I'm not 'perfect' at age 49, and many of us here have medical issues which
make exercise difficult, but i am meaning the general run of the mill of who
you see in the mall, or the grocery store, or at work.  They sorta gained
15-20 lbs.  Clothes even resized so what was a 12 is now a 10.

Most *here* are very knowledgable on foods and such.  But out there, seems to
be a cadre of folks who want to have 2 quarter lb McDee's a day with super
sized fries and then sue McDees because they got fat.

I am seeing a slow but healthy seeming trend though in snacks.  More and more
of them are coming out with the '100 calories' packs (ok, some are 150
calories).  It helps with portion control which seems to be the main issue.
