Some of my friends would look right at home with such
accoutrements.

At PSA's (or perhaps more properly PsssssssA's), the
original recipe has no ham at all - it's vegetarian.

I like as much bacon as I can get, but that was what I had.
While cleaning out Bill's fridge the other day, I found some
baked beans that he'd taken back from a party (ofttimes, when
one has a party around here, one gives out leftovers as little
party favors) - it was some fairly respectable brand of canned
augmented with a little ketchup (OK), a fair amount of mustard
(OK plus), and about 25% the weight of the beans in bacon!
Terrific stuff. I'd be in favor of pork and beans actually
being pork and beans.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v7.07

      Title: Bacon Soup - Cawl Cig Moch
 Categories: Soups, Welsh
   Servings: 1

    150 g  Bacon, lean rashers
      1 md Potato
      2    Leeks
      1    Celery, stack
      1    Egg
    600 ml Water
    600 ml Milk
      2 ts Parsley, chopped
           Salt & pepper

  Remove the rind from the bacon. Dice the bacon. Peel and cut up the potato
  and leeks. Slice the celery. Place the bacon and vegetables with the water
  in the saucepan. Season. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Separate the egg
  yolk from the white and mix the yolk with the milk. Remove the saucepan
  from the heat and stir in the egg yolk and milk. Reheat for 2-3 minutes but
  do not boil. Serve sprinkled with parsley.
