The first two places I went to didn't have any. I know of a
couple stores likely to stock some good ones but may not
have the time or legs to get there. We will see. In any case,
we won't lack for food or drink.

True - where we're going Friday night is the closest local
equivalent to upscale Chinese dining, so the rich folks'
rules will obtain.

 Due to my timeframe, easy to settle up on Sunday if not

Saturday we can do things in full sight of the public, as
that's not in a Chinese setting.

Oh, in response to do I get miles or points for that, the answer
is, who do you take me for? It is tradition in most of the groups
that the organizer gets the points. But if anyone else wants to do
the banker thing, I will gladly cede my right to this small perk.
I have enough of the darn things. My total take will be in the
400-500 point range (retail value, $8 to 10), and that's only
if some of the clam places take credit cards, which is doubtful.

... though it would be cool to confront some poor teenager
with an order like 3 large cones, one with chocolate chip and
coffee with sprinkles, that's jimmies to you, in a waffle
cone, one with just plain vanilla in a waffle cone, one with
plain vanilla on the bottom and French vanilla in the middle
and malted vanilla on top, in a sugar cone, a vanilla shake,
that's a frappe, a two-scoop blueberry and raspberry swirl in
a cup, four baby size, one black walnut with just a bit of
frozen pudding on top in a sugar cone, one coffee heath bar
crunch with jimmies, in a sugar cone, one crunch-a-saurus hold
the lactose and with extra blue food coloring, in a cup, and
one cherry vanilla in a cup, also a three-scoop cup with
peppermint stick, frozen pudding, and licorice, also a small
cone with mint chocolate chip, and also could I taste the
prune whip, oh, let's say a pint of that, also 12 waters,
three with no ice, two with extra ice, and lots of napkins.

Count on 1 mL = 1 g as a rule of thumb;
also 1 oz = 1 fl oz = 30 mL.

Artillery Punch
cat: ardent spirits
yield: 20 one-cup servings

1 qt Strong Black Tea
1 qt Rye Whiskey
1 Bottle Red Wine (25.4 oz/ 750 mL)
1 pt Jamaica Rum
1/2 pt Brandy
1 oz Benedictine
1 pt Orange Juice
1/2 pt Lemon Juice
1/2 pt Sugar Syrup

Combine all the ingredients in a large punch bowl
with a block of ice. Garnish with twists of lemon peel.
