SMF, I remember it well. There used to be a secret room
that I had the combination to where you could sit and
have a beer in peace and quiet essentially by yourself
(it was one of the unmanned and undocumented United clubs
at airports that had substantial traffic but not enough to
warrant a real club - places such as STL and MSY).

Funny thing. I joke, when someone else is paying, that
I'll get all the most expensive things on the menu, and
of course I seldom do unless there's nothing else worth
eating. When I am paying, I often get the most expensive
things on the menu.

My brother, of course, will order the most expensive thing
on purpose when I'm paying (and has admitted that to me,
after ordering something that was the priciest on the list
but that I knew he didn't care for) but just get a burger
or some chicken wings on the rare occasions when I convince
him to reciprocate.

As you recall, I used to carry a little thing of "I am on
fire ready to die" with me at all times before 9-11 ... Now,
of course, that product has been wussified, but on the other
hand, it probably would be possible to carry similar dangerous
substances on board ("take this plane to Cuba, or I will make
the scrambled eggs and turkey sausage edible!") again.

Chart House mud pie
cat: chain, tastealike, dessert
serves: 8

1/2 pk Nabisco chocolate wafers
1/2 cube butter, melted (2 oz)
1 qt coffee ice cream, softened
1 1/2 c fudge sauce
whipped cream
slivered almonds

Crush wafers; mix in butter. Press into 9" pie plate. Freeze
until firm. Top with fudge sauce and freeze 10 hrs. Serve
topped with whipped cream and slivered almonds.
