Could be.. Mom remembers only dry mint in jars though.. could be from their
garden.. I know Grandma and Grandpa always had a garden (g).

They are certainly into EVERYTHING over here Lol  But you can't help but laugh
when they do it... like unwinding a bunch of my embroidery-thread bobbins ..
all over the rooms, across doorways..

Maybe like caponata?  Eggplant/mushrooms cooked down to a paste almost..
