Hey, let the guy be guilty if he wants. If we want to trace
blame back to Delta Air Lines, we can. But for now, let Burt

Ha ha. She now has holed herself up in her apartment, with Jerry
Springer and the like on loud much of the time. Learning new
techniques I guess.

The only thing I regret was the smoked pig, but even as the Shipps
were divvying it up I went in with my fingers and stole a few fatty
bits, so my needs too were satisfied.

Actually, I ate well off leftovers and am abandoning the cats
(got a sitter for 5 days for $100) with a nearly empty fridge.

It wasn't aborted, but rather perhaps should have been. Still, if
my friends Weller and Newsom and Annie and Billy are still friends
after tasting and rejecting the stuff, I might have some left over
to send or bring to the unwary in the future.

This altogether too mild-mannered dictator might be well served
by a sprinkle of bacon salt:

EGGPLANT NAPOLEON
cat: vegetable, despotic
serves: 4

2 md eggplants
1/4 c extra virgin olive oil
salt and freshly ground pepper
3 lg eggs
1/2 c flour
2 1/2 c fresh bread crumbs
1 c peanut or vegetable oil

Heat oven to 350 F. Place one eggplant on a baking sheet;
roast 1 hr. Allow to cool. Slice in half lengthwise; scoop
pulp into a mixing bowl. Add olive oil to bowl; blend well
with a fork. Season to taste and reserve.

Slice remaining eggplant into disks 1/8" thick. Season. In
a small bowl, beat eggs with a fork until blended. Dip each
eggplant slice in the flour, egg and then the bread crumbs.

Heat vegetable oil to 350 F in saucepan. Add eggplant in
small batches, and saute until brown on both sides, about
a minute a side. Remove; and drain on paper towels.

To assemble, place a slice of eggplant on each of four
plates, topped by a heaping T of eggplant puree. Top with
another slice of eggplant and another spoonful of puree,
continuing until the eggplant and puree have been evenly
distributed. Finish each napoleon with a slice of eggplant;
there will be a total of 4 to 6 layers. Serve immediately.
