The trick, of course, is to convince them that it does make things taste
better.  Or that it isn't a sacrifice in taste...  So often, what we
consider "comfort" foods may not be as healthy for us as it should be,
but changing the taste from what we "remember" it to be makes it less
comforting.  If you are doing the cooking for them, you might be able to
sneak tweaks in that they may not notice, or that they decide are more
tasty after all... but I wouldn't expect them to be that enthusiastic
about doing it themselves...  ;)

The chicken she avoids because of reading the "Eat to your Blood Type"
stuff... the corn because her mother was sensitive to corn.  I can go
along with the latter better than the former.  But she does think that
the nightshade veggies affect her arthritis.  Potatoes and tomatoes are
pretty prevalent, so she has to take some pains to avoid them.  :)

That might be an opportunity to talk about estate issues, too.  At least
you should all be together.  :)  How far away is the 60th?

That IS the hope.  (G)   Particularly as I am a co-executor for her,
with the elder of my two brothers (both younger than I)...

Talking about it ahead of time, with your parents' involvement, is a
good idea...  If nothing else, it can establish some ground rules, so to
speak...  :)
