Really.. that is pretty crummy.. If the person abandoned the kitty.. geez. Very
strange  :( Maybe they've run into problems when people changed their minds?
(still doesn't make a lot of sense (g)).

Sure, you'd expect them to check out someone who was going to adopt one of
their animals..

Good idea.. Like you say, Daisy will be feeling more comfortable by then..
Actually, by then, Daisy will probably "own" the house :) :)

Yes, when we took in Tina (she was also abandoned, but by our neighbors who
moved out of the village) we had no idea how old she was.  She needed emergency
surgery, though, when I found her. The vet examined her and figured she was
about 9 months old (teeth, and things like that, I suppose). She was so skinny
when we found her, she only weighed 4 lbs.!  I don't want to weigh her now
hahaha.. she's put on a LOT of weight since she was spayed :)

Yep.  And it's so sad to see animals that are raised that way :(

===Carrot Loaf===
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
5 ounces raisins, chopped
1 packed cup grated carrot (about 3-4 medium carrots) 1 cup dark brown sugar
2 1/2 ounces walnuts broken up, 3/4 cup total 2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 400F
Butter 8-10 cup loaf pan and dust lightly with fine dry crumbs. Sift the flour,
baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon and set aside.  Place the rasins
in a large bowl and separate them.  Scrub the carrots and grate fine.  Pack the
grated carrots into a one cup measure. Stir the carrots, walnuts and brown
sugar into the raisins. Beat the eggs lightly and beat the milk and melted
butterinto the eggs.  Add the egg and milk mixture to the carrot mixure.  Add
the sifted dry ingredients and stir until blended.  Turn the batter into the
prepared loaf pan.  Bake in preheated 400F oven for 55-60 minutes or until a
cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a rack for 5
minutes, then invert the pan to remove the cake and contiue cooling on the
rack.
