Hi Carol,

 > CS> Even us cooks turn total 'eat' at times!

 > Especially when our health is taking a hit. (G)

CS> That too! Brown rice is healthy and easy for you to make just now.

Yes, I did some Saturday night. Just a quick rinse, put into the cooker
and hit the "Start" button. Nothing more to do for 45 or so minutes.

CS> Your call! I'll happily try either one. Oh, and I'd expect a brown
CS> rice to be fairly separatist. Thats ok when it's brown (nature makes
 CS> it that way).

Yes, I gave you a few more tips about cooking it in this packet. It
still has lots of the good stuff in it, not cleaned off like white rice.
What makes the white rice stick together so much is that there's lots of
exposed starch.

CS> More complext taste suits me and separatist is fine with that type
 CS> <g>.

We enjoy it. Some of the places we went to in HI would give us a choice
of brown or white rice.

 > CS> DEpends! My Mom may be visiting same time. Yes, Mom is alive and well.

CS> I bet she would! We'd need to stay in a hotel then. (which we might
 CS> do anyways).

We haven't decided yet. Janis is only about 90 minutes from where my
parents live but most of the roads we have to use to get there aren't
the best at night.

CS> I can't remember for sure but I think Janice said she has a wok.
 CS> You'd be flying up I presume?

Probably driving so we could visit both Steve's family in western NY and
mine in the Catskills. It's easier to drive now that we're on the east
coast. Last year it took about 7-8 hours to get to Dale's from my
parents and then about 12-13 to drive from Dale's back to Savannah. I
know, we could have done the 2nd leg in 2 days but I had a pre-op
appointment and needed the day between to recouperate.

 > CS> Memory note for me, bring the fav of all time book of mine. Hari
 > CS> Kojima. It's not big, but I love that book.

CS> You will laugh! Food stained with notes scribbled all in the margins.

Sounds like some of mine. (G) Not so many notes but definately stained;
thing is, I don't remember spilling on them while cooking! (G)

 > CS> he's mostly used to stove top style but i can get him in the right

 > I usually do mine on the stove top.

CS> Many do. I tend more to the load and forget it for that.

I can put more into a bigger pot on the stove; my biggest crock pot is
only about 4 quarts.
