There was more to it than that. There was also a HUGE batch of "attitude". And
the fact that the old broad ahead of me sailed through checkout, buying a 1.75
of Hiram Walker's Imperial and a bag of lemons and was NOT asked for ID. And
several others things I'll not go into at this time.

OK, fine, card everyone. I've bought at places like that. But, this was NOT the
situation here.

And apparently this was not what their software required, either.

Agreed. So?

I asked to see a manager and the checkout bot reached for the phone saying "I'm
calling security". I've been there and done that. Security is ALWAYS on the
side of the employee without knowing the circumstances, etc. So, eff 'em. I
left. Hope they had fun putting all that stuff back.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: It's a Snap!
 Categories: Cookies, Desserts, Snacks
      Yield: 20 servings
 
      2    Egg whites; room temp
    1/8 ts Cream of tartar
    1/2 c  Sugar
      1 ts Vanilla
    1/2 ts Ginger
    1/2 ts Cinnamon
      2    Gingersnap cookies; crushed
 
  Preheat oven to 250øF. Grease cookie sheets. Beat egg whites
  in mixer bowl at medium speed until frothy. Add cream of
  tartar, beat until soft peaks form. Add sugar, 2 tb at a
  time, beating 30 seconds after each addition. At high speed,
  beat until stiff, 1 min more.
 
  Beat in vanilla, ginger and cinnamon. GENTLY fold in cookie
  crumbs. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet.
  Bake 45 minutes until dry to the touch.

  Turn off oven, let meringues cool in oven, 2 hours.

  Makes 20 cookies.
