Sounds like my dad.  One of his retirement projects has been trying to
get some sort of organisation to all the pictures he's taken.  He
retired about 15 years ago but had taken pictures professionally, as
well as privately for over 50 years.  He's still working on that, and
other, projects.

That is aa bit of a help; you can also scan in pictures for future
preservation.

Still best to plan on taking it easy the first few days. You will be
getting the anesthetic out of your system and pain pills in, probably
not wanting to eat much the first day.  Probably by the end of the 2nd
day you will be ready to eat any and every thing in sight, or so it will
seem, until you sit down to eat.  Then the appetite vanishs but it will
improve over the next days.  At least that's the way it seems to go with
me.

And the parking fee probably wasn't too steep.  I've noticed UNC-CH
(where I'm going for some of my care now) seems to have a cap of about
$5.00 in their garages.
