"We passed up antelope because no matter what folks tell you it's the worst
kind of Rocky Mountain meat. Old-timers will tell you that cougar meat is best.
Lewis and Clark said that, and Jim Bridger, Kit Carson, Uncle Dick Wooton, Jim
Baker ... they all agreed." - Louis L'Amour, The Daybreakers.

BTW - Alley rabbit tastes a lot like real rabbit. Only difference once they are
dressed out and the feet lopped off is the shoulder blades. I have eaten cat (I
am certain) when I was in my early teens. We ate rabbit a couple times a week
as it was cheap and a budget stretcher. My father patronised a grocer who was
busted (and made HUGE headlines) for selling moggy as domestic rabbit. That
case was the prime cause of the Illinois law that requires that all rabbit sold
for eating have the hind feet attached.

Title: Jack Wemple's Mountain Lion Steak Surprise
 Categories: Game, Beer, Dairy
      Yield: 2 servings

1 lb Mountain Lion Steaks; 1"
           - thick
      1 c Milk
      2 tb Worcestershire Sauce
           Garlic granules
           Johnny's Seasoning Salt
      6 oz Beer; NOT lite
           Flour
           Oil

Here's a wonderful recipe shared by my good friend, outdoor
  writer and hunter, Bob Robb.

In a 9" X 9" flat glass baking pan combine mixture of milk,
Worcester sauce, garlic granules and Johnny's with a half
  can of beer.

Lay mountain lion steaks in mixture and marinade for two
  hours.

Roll steaks in seasoned flour and fry slowly in oil until
just done in the centre. (Don't overcook!)

Serve with green salad, garlic bread, and a baked potato
or scalloped potatoes for one of the most incredible meals
  you've ever eaten.

  Serves 2
