Price pressure and lack of patronage.   Bv)=

A lot of automobile racing venues fell purely to land values. One of my all
time favourites ... Ascot Park in Gardena, CA was dark only one night per week
and generally had full parking lots and plenty of butts in seats - said butts
consuming lots and lots of beverages and concession food. But, developers
offered the heirs of J. C. Agajanian obscene amounts of dosh for the property
and eventually built a huge (local option) poker club on the site - and some
senior apartments, etc.

That's my situation here. I looked into buying a lot and moving my mobile home
onto it. Buy the time I amortised the lot, paid the taxes and paid for water
and trash service (which are included in my lot rent), bought a bigger lawn
motor to take care of a larger lot, etc. etc. I determined that I'm better off
staying put.

      Title: Reuben Loaf by Poker
 Categories: Beef, Cheese, Breads
      Yield: 6 servings
 
  3 1/4 c  All-purpose flour; divided
      1 tb Sugar
      1 ts Salt
    1/4 oz Envelope dry yeast
      1 c  Warm water (120øF-130øF)
      1 tb Butter; softened
    1/4 c  Thousand island dressing
      4 sl Swiss cheese
      6 oz Package thin sliced corned
           - beef
      8 oz Can sauerkraut; drained
      1    Egg white; beaten

  01. Preheat the oven to 400øF.

  02. Combine 2 1/4 cups of the flour with the sugar, salt
  and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.

  03. Stir in the warm water, butter and enough of the
  remaining flour to make soft dough.

  04. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 4 min.

  05. Roll in to a 10x14 inch rectangle.

  06. Arrange the rectangle on a lightly greased 11"x17"
  baking sheet.

  07. Spread the salad dressing down the middle. Layer the
  cheese, corned beef and sauerkraut over the salad dressing.

  08. Fold the sides to the center to enclose the filling
  and seal the edges.

  09. Brush with the egg white and cut slits in top.

  10. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.

  11. Cut into 6 slices and serve hot.
