That's right - if Joan were here she might be able
to weigh in, but as far as I recall there are other
factors than simple acidity - the reactiveness of
the ions in the acid in question with calcium or
whatever the stones are made of and the solubility
of the products of the reaction.

If you mouse over to the right of these notifications, you

 "Social networking sites (such as Facebook), cell-phone
 text-messaging (: lol), and Internet connections at the
 local coffee shop, have made it easier for people to
 stay in touch with distant friends. Social psychologists
 originally expected to find that these technological
 innovations would yield the usual benefits found with
 face-to-face contacts, but results have been mixed. One
 study suggested that increased use of the Internet comes
 at a cost to relationships with family and friends and
 results in increases in depression and loneliness.
 Melanie Green and her colleagues note that people are
 drawn to Internet communication because it is easy, less
 risky than talking to real strangers, and immediately
 gratifying. Over the long haul, however, these researchers
 found that an increasing ratio of such 'ersatz social
 engagements' to real conversations tended to decrease
 general life satisfaction. However, a study of the online
 network Facebook indicated that people who used this
 service did reap benefits of enhanced social capital, and
 this was particularly true of those with low self-esteem
 - who might be less likely to initiate face-to-face
 encounters. Nevertheless, virtual connections with friends
 do not substitute for actually being in the same room
 talking to your friends face-to-face. And it's really
 hard to share wild pig over the Internet."

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.02

      Title: Swedish Rutabagas
 Categories: Side dishes, Vegetables, Kooknet, Cyberealm
      Yield: 6 servings

  1 1/2 lb Rutabagas; peeled, quartered
           -and sliced 1/4" thick
      1 ts Salt
      2 tb Brown Sugar
    1/2 ts Ground Ginger
    1/4 ts Pepper
      2 tb Butter

  In a saucepan, cook rutabagas in boiling water with 1/2 ts salt over
  medium heat until tender, about 10 minutes; drain. Combine brown
  sugar, ginger, 1/2 ts salt and pepper. Mix well and add with butter
  to drained rutabagas. Stir gently over low heat until sugar melts,
  2-3 minutes. Excellent with ham or pork roast.
