No "slave labor" for them then? We had no choice; it was "get out there
and pick NOW!" sort of thing.

Sounds like the early to mid 80s. I got my first microwave in 1984, from
Sears, with that feature.  We went to Germany in 86; the next couple we
had were bought at the Frankfurt, then Berlin PXs.  The latter one came
back with us and was used until it died in May of 1997, shortly before
Rachel's wedding. It was a Samsung. We replaced it with a Sharp, bought
at the PX at Fort Huachuca, AZ because I was not going to have people
in and out for the wedding with no microwave.

I wouldn't most of the time either, if I could do bread by hand. Now
it's a matter of putting everything into the machine and pressing the
"start" button. (G)

Sounds like one we have--one that you do not want to put in the
microwave.
