============================
Hi Ruth,

-> Even among people of the same state there are differences. I called it
-> "soda" but Steve called it '"pop" (until he met me). I figured out
-> where the dividing line was at one point but it's probably drifted one
-> way or the other now.

 RH> They do that, especially when regionalisms catch on.

Yes, and we've got enough regions represented on the echo here to get a
good number of names for some things. But, we usually "translate" into
a commonly recognised name.

-> RH> Well of course she's cute; she's your granddaughter!

-> And she celebrated her first birthday yesterday (October 7). Hard to
-> believe it's been a year already. I don't know what kind of a cake
-> Rachel made for herself (October 6) or Sarah.

 RH> No clue. My niece turned four about two weeks ago. That cake was
 RH> vanilla; the kid like vanilla and not chocolate. I'm beginning to
 RH> wonder if she's adopted.

Strange kid--sure she didn't crawl out from under a rock?

-> RH> Less chance of losing it that way.

-> Yes; I've got too much invested in it to lose it while wearing it loose.
-> After nearly losing my rings in HI a few times, I wore a protector on
-> the one outer one until we got them resized.

 RH> You could stick them on a chain and wear them that way.

I like them on my hand and am careful to keep them there. I will take
them off and put in a pocket or holder if there's any danger of losing
them.

-> nights (while I'm in class) that he did so tonight. We're on break
-> this week so I made eggplant parmisan, using a couple of small eggplants
-> i got Saturday at the farmer's market. Yummy and enough left over for
-> another supper.

 RH> Speaking of which, I need to kill some eggplant myself, along with
 RH> some cheese.  Hmmm....

Saw the farmer that sold it to us today & told him how good it was. He
had a laugh and glad that we enjoyed it. He gave a couple of peppers
bonus with our purchase of some sugar snap peas and a bell pepper today.

-> RH> Me either; I turn mine in about once every four months.
 RH> ->
-> We have curb side recycling pick up so all my stuff goes out on Tuesday
-> night for pick up the next day. Makes things really easy for me.

 RH> We do too, for recyclables but soda cans have a nickel deposit. I'm
 RH> cheap; I want my nickels back!

We don't have the manditory charge so the soda cans go out with the rest
of the stuff.

-> I can forget the olive oil if the chocolate is good enough. Gave an
-> impromptu bread baking lesson to a friend this morning; she asked about
-> using olive oil. Had to tell her that it's not the one of choice.
-> Three of her 4 girls were watching Veggie Tales during the lesson, 4th
-> was in a front carrier.

 RH> It's do-able, but not optimal. better to make whole grain bread and
 RH> dip in the Extra Virgin afterward.

And we do that a good amount of the time. She called today, asked if we
could bring the recipe over when we brought back their computer (Steve
had doe some work on it). She got that recipe, most of one of the
loaves of bread and my easy do pizza crust recipe.

-> -> RH> I know the feeling; some of them look good but just don't taste
->  RH> right.
-> -> They only look good because they're posed by professional food. (G)
 RH> ->
-> RH> Not to mention sprayed, pimped, and plumped by a food stylist.
 RH> ->
-> And who knows what all elso--collegin implants, saline injections, wax
-> jobs, etc. (G)

 RH> Makeup! Now that everything's digital, they're airbrushing their air
 RH> brushes.

Of course--got to make it look good so we'll buy it.
