============================
Hi Ruth,

-> RH> Or use both, on occasion.

-> Yes, as I've translated some recipies into metric as I've typed them in.

 RH> I can do that sometimes, but have to think about it. Makes the
 RH> Aussies happy.

It's pretty much done without thinking for me. Living almost 6 years in
Germany helped.

-> But you wouldn't trade her back at this point.

 RH> Nope - she's our ketchup and hot dog disposal. Gotta get rid of those
 RH> somehow.

Most kids at that age are peanut butter freaks.

->  RH> Oh well.  I tried.

-> Yes, it's that I'm so used to having them there. When they were being
-> resized, I got out some inexpensive rings I'd gotten here & there and
-> wore them.

 RH> That's about all I have. I do have a few gold ones, but most are
 RH> sterling. A few are costume; I go for the really outlandish ones.

I've got small hands--size 5 or 5 1/2 ring and small elsewiseso smaller
rings look better on my fingers. I've got a cute one I picked up for a
dollar at a yard sale in Savannah--yellow gold with a small diamond in
it.  Perfect fit too, surprisingly.

-> -> had a laugh and glad that we enjoyed it. He gave a couple of peppers
-> -> bonus with our purchase of some sugar snap peas and a bell pepper

-> RH> Cool. Around here, no bonuses.

He had thrown in a bonus several times--we're repeat customers.

-> This one goes until November, restarts I think in April. I think the
-> one in Raleigh is year round but more inconvenient for us.

 RH> The one in town only operates for a few months. Shorter growing
 RH> season.

Yes, I'm enjoying the longer season here. Picked another tomato today.

-> RH> I wish! It does cut down on the roadside garbage though. They've
-> RH> just added it to water bottles too.

-> Yes, the road side waste is cut down a bit. Now if they could go backto
-> using paper bags instead of all the plastic............

 RH> Here they're going to all reusables, or trying to.

Whole Foods Market does, or has paper if you don't bring (enough) bags.
They give a ten cent per bag brought credit when you check out. We're
building up a good collection of bags.

-> RH> I usually buy the pizza dough pre-mixed; my local supermarket sells
-> RH> some good stuff. Sometimes I even find whole wheat. I don't like

-> We've been making our own crust for over 30 years now.

 RH> I used to have someone in the house who didn't even like pizza. I've
 RH> eaten it and fish a lot more since Dad died!

My dad was against pizza on a regular basis while I was growing up. Now
he and mom buy a lot of the small frozen ones so mom won't have to work
too hard to fix some meals. They've gone to a lot of convenience foods
because of her severe rheumatiod arthritis--but they aren't good for
blood pressure or diabetes, other issues they have to deal with.

-> RH> And if they made it taste good, we'd buy it again.

-> Farmer's market. We bought some sorgum syrup that had been boiled down
-> the night before on our latest foray. Go for the organics.

 RH> I'd have gone for that too. That's about as fresh as you can get.

Yes, and it was the last week this couple will be at the market until
spring.

Catch you later,
Ruth
