I would think one would take it very badly indeed! The 
"examanee" gets to pick the people on her/his oral 
committee, so you'd expect them to know enough 
not to pick someone who's be "gunning" for them! All
of the people on Amanda's committee are people she's
either TA'd for, Worked with/for, or she knows from 
them being at the labs with her. They all know and 
respect her and are very helpful...that does not at 
all mean Amanda is not worried that "something" will
happen and she'll bomb. (not likely as long as she
doesn't freeze up and have a meltdown). I've met 
several of the prof's on her committee and they
all think Amanda is brilliant and will have no problems
with the orals....the only one who's seeing clouds 
on the horizon......is Amanda (grin).

of the big shippers ("it's tOO expensive to transfer 
ballast water in the middle of the ocean" TIME IS MONEY")
even though 99.9% of them are not even American 
companies. There we go, sold to the highest bidder 
again!

we are after all, a very adaptable species (grin)...keep
an eye out to make sure the other teeth don't start to 
migrate to close that gap now that there's nothing there
to keep them in place!
