That's what you get for overdoing...  but at least you had
the pain pills to help out.  Putting oneself back to sleep
is the proper use...  (G)

Gives her something to keep her busy and integrated.. the loss
doesn't go away, but isn't front and center...  :)

Exactly.  Both in the level of care and the day-to-day
constant reminder of the deterioration it's very hard...
but the net result is that it becomes easier to let them
go when the time comes.  And there is usually no kidding
oneself that just given time, everything will go (or would
have gone) back to normal.

I'm more likely to do that for the week of "camping" with
my family... and even then, I often overplan and bring
things home.

Ever since Richard was working strange schedules (2005 and
on), quickies have been more the norm than the exception
around here, sad to say.  As his schedule got more regular
with his present job, mine got more crazy with the people
I'm taking care of...  "Regular" cooking has gone by the
wayside except for the odd time here and there, or planned
for specially like St paddy's day or T-day... hence:
 -> I used to actively plan meals for the week, but lately
 -> there's been just too much uncertainty of what might be
 -> happening in any week to do much more than get enough
 -> hopefully for the meals if the week doesn't get too
 -> weird... and get stuff that I can toss into the freezer
 -> for later if the week gets out of hand.  It's mostly the
 -> fresh fruits and veggies that I discover later, too far
 -> gone for redemption...  And it's not for not liking them,
 -> it's just because they got forgotten in the melee... ;/

I'd be glad for those days to return here... (G)  That is,
for cooking to be the norm, not the exception... :)  Most
days now we simply don't have the opportunity (good way to
put it...)_

Hope she gets better soon.  Good thing you can take care of
her now...  :)   Lots of love and fluids and chicken soup
should get her on her feet soon...  :)
