I found I had an error in my setup that _I_ created this week :(  I had moved
my ftp port to 60721 from 2121 because of conflicts with another program.. in
the BBBS Web interface, port 60721 has to be explicitly defined.. and that
would probably also have messed up the telnet interface downloading.. just a
guess there.  I fixed it after I saw your message in Question/Answer_Box :) :)
 It hit me.. dang.. have to make changes in more than one place <g>.. That's
what happens when you set something up years ago, and decide to "make it
better" Lol.  Hopefully all will work ok from now on for you :) I'll send Dale
a new entry for the BBS list here in the cooking echo.

You probably tried it again after I fixed my mistake :) :)  I hope you're
saying at least that you got it work ok :)

hahaha :)  Well, looks like Reggie has some good taste.. I never have
buttermilk around here.. I think I'd try this by "souring" some yogurt with
white vinegar.. or maybe try just plain yogurt.

Anyway, can't go wrong with chocolate, that's for sure (grin)  I usually use
the Joy of Cooking's recipe for brownies.. your recipe sounds a bit more
exciting haha

Brownies Cockaigne from the Joy of Cooking:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt in a double boiler:
1/2 cup butter
4 oz. chocolate

Cool this mixture. If you don't, your brownies will be heavy and dry. Beat
until light in color and foamy in texture:

4 eggs at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon salt

Add gradually and continue beating until well creamed:

2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

With a few swift strokes, combine the cooled chocolate mixture into the eggs
and sugar. Even if you normally use an electric mixer, do this manually. Before
the mixture becomes uniformly colored, fold in, again by hand:

1 cup sifted all-purpose flour

And before the mixture is uniformly colored, stir in gently:

1 cup pecan meats

Bake in a 9x13" pan for about 25 minutes. Cut when cool. Wrapped individually
in foil, these keep well 3 or 4 days.
