Was that to put pictures on the babble box? My ADSL cost me U$25/mo (A$27/mo)
for 1.5 megabit service. If my line is high enough quality (I live in an OLD
part of town) I might be able to get 6 megabit service for U$35/mo (A$38/mo).
Or if they get fibre optics installed ... but, that may take a while. They are
running fibre to the more affluent areas first - a logical move for AT&T but I
don't have to be (and am not) happy about it. America has the slowest broadband
speeds of ALL the developed nations according to a story I heard on NPR the
other day. In Japan broadband via fibre is commonly 60+ megabits. Some

The local cable outfit ($cumca$t) offers (up to) 10 megabit service at U$49/mo
A$53/mo) or at U$35/mo if I subscribe to some gazillion channel package of
TeeVee service @ U$45/mo for a total of U$80/mo (A$86/mo). The sales Johnny
couldn't seem to get a grip on my statement that if I had a need for that many
glass teat channels I wouldn't need the internet service - but, since the
confuser is my entertainment and amusement delivery system ......

So, I stuck with the ADSL. Although, I'd abandon AT&T in a heartbeat if a truly
better deal comes along. Like the local gummint offering fibre optics - which
they are nattering about although like all politicians, there is a lot of
balloon juice and bugle oil and little actual doing.
 
MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Ham & Cheese Bugles
 Categories: Breads, Cheese, Pork, Appetisers
      Yield: 30 Servings

      8 sl White sandwich bread (4"x4")
      1 c  Minced onion
      1 c  Spreadable sharp cheddar
    1/2 ts Celery seed
           Fresh ground pepper
     30 sl (thin) ham
           Cellophane-tipped toothpicks
 
  Toast the white bread. Trim off the crusts.
 
  Combine the minced onion with the cheddar cheese. Add the
  celery seed and pepper and mix well.
 
  Spread the mixture generously on the toasted bread slices.
  Slice the bread into 1" wide strips. Trim the ham slices
  to fit the length of the bread strips.

  Roll a thin ham slice around each bread strip and fasten
  with a cellophane-tipped toothpick.

  Refrigerate until serving time.

  Makes 30.
