=====================
-> -> Quite so. OTOH, I've got 2 (single) brothers and 2 sisters, one
married,
-> -> the other with a common law husband. BUT (!) Steve and I have the
only
-> -> girls among the grand kids and the only (so far) great grand kids to
my
-> -> parents.
->
-> RH> On the other hand, you never know. One of your brothers (I almost
->
-> Highly unlikely now. Even so, if they married women about their age,
-> the women would have to have children from a previous relatonship.
-> OTOH, if my brothers married younger women, there's the chance of more
-> grand kids for my folks.
->
It's been known to happen. I've known plenty of people who did just that.

-> RH> typed bothers) might up and decide to get married.
->
-> That has been an appropriate term at times. Got a package from Dakin
-> Farms of Vermont from my younger brother the other day.

If he sends goodies, he's not a bother ... today at least.

-> -> well as previous times now that it is so developed/paved over.
->
-> RH> One more reason to hate asphalt.
->
-> Progress! More like regress at times.

Or like Con-gress, as the old joke goes.

-> -> India Indian or Native American Indian? I've got mostly plain
sweaters
->
->  RH> Subcontinent.
->
-> Sounds interesting. I've seen some of the fabric from there and

That's one word for it.(LOL) I refer to it as the gaudy tacky sweater.

-> wouldn't mind owning some. Some pieces are big enough I can restyle
-> them into something more my style but with the ethnic fabrics. Soory,
-> I'm not a sari wearer, especially in the winter.

Me neither. I do have one Indian-style outfit, but it's Northern Indian,
which means pants.

-> RH> Generally if I have a sweatshirt with something on it, it's
something
->  RH> I've painted.
->
-> Let me see--I've got one with a grey tabby cat applique I put on; one
-> that has the map of the divided city of Berlin (coded by the flags of
-> the occupying forces) on the front, "You are now leaving the American
-> sector" in the 4 languages on the back; a green one with a brass horn,
-> holly leaves & berries and red bows (another of my projects).........
-> need I say more? I wore the divided city one to Wed. night services a
-> few weeks ago; one of the kids (12 year old) was having fun trying to
-> decypher the Russian.

Russian language sweatshirt?  COOL!

-> RH> I tend to run to summer colors, but sneak in a lot of winter stuff
->
-> As I add a pastel every so often, usually green or blue but sometimes
-> yellow.

For me, greens and yellows are my "I have the flu" colors - as in the make
me look like I have the flu.

-> RH> I wear a fair bit of all of the above, many times because for
winter
-> RH> stuff I end up having to buy menswear. It's the only way to get
long
-> RH> sleeves that are actually long sleeves.
->
-> Other than making your own. Time for that can be a crunch; I cut out

And I can't do that for turtlenecks anyway, not having a serger.

-> some shirts before we packed out of GA that are still waiting to be
-> assembled. But, I got a dress & pantaloons done for Sarah (update,
-> doing better but waiting on blood O2 levels to pick up aa bit more, just
-> talked to Rachel) in a week. I put my new bathrobe aside for that
-> project & still had blue fuzzies all over the ewing room. (G)
->
I know the feeling. I made a throw out of one of the really silky fuzzy
fleece types once; I'm still finding fuzzies from that stuff.

-> RH> Of course, in this country if you order in German it may just
result
-> RH> in a dumb look from the waiter.
->
-> Most of the tme, yes. I do better ordering in Spanish.

Unless you're in a Chinese restaurant, and maybe even then in some places.

-> Just depends on what the locals will take in their area I guess.
-> Chinese isn't too exotic now in most areas of the US; some pockets might
-> exsist where it still is quite foreign but any place that can get cable
-> or satellite tv or internet should at least know about some of the more
-> common Chinese food.

I don't think I've ever been to a smallish city that didn't have at least
one Chinese place.

-> RH> My mom had the same reaction. I saw a Christmas card today with a
-> RH> baby's footprint on the cover. Someone else had a similar idea.
->
-> We usually try to do something a bit different. Ths year's mail out was
-> back to our card/letter format.

I know - I just got mine. I don't use prefab cards all that often these
days, so I don't have the problem of blending in.

-> RH> I even put part of a seam into a baby quilt tonight after I got
back
->  RH> from church.
->
-> We didn't have Christmas Eve service so we spent a quiet night at home.

We had two; I went to the later one.

-> -> Easy & sounds good. Wonder how they would work in whole wheat.
->
-> RH> Easy to write down anyway. Not easy if your hands don't work
right.
-> RH> The texture would be different with whole wheat. They'd still
work,
-> RH> but might be tougher.
->
-> Whole wheat pastry flour and either a Kitchen Aid mixer or a
-> co-operative husband. (G)

Now there's an idea! I'd try the husband first; I'm never too sanguine
about throwing a hands-only recipe into a mixer.

-> -> the sermon was not quite as long as it usually is. Still covered a
lot
-> -> of ground tho.
->
-> RH> I'll bet the worship team was ready for a nap after that one.
->
-> Most of us were. I shut my eyes for a bit. (G)

After the service, or during?(G)
