Priest classes will do that in nearly ALL religions.

But, Sikhism is NOT Islam. For instance women have equal status with men in
religious services and ceremonies. Something that certainly is not true in
Islam, Judaism, nor Roman Catholicism. So, your in-laws are prohibited booze,
tobacco, drugs (or other intoxicants) and meat. And Sikhs do not have a priest
class as such.

You should have tossed him a curve and asked for your eggs to be "basted".
Something I learned at the Clam Crawl I attended in Boston that no one there
seems to understand. 

I learned to make basted eggs, basting the eggs in the skillet by using the
spatula to splash hot sausage or bacon grease over the tops of the eggs,
cooking the whites whilst leaving the yolks runny. I also learned how to do it
in a diner using a flat top grill. You start the eggs cooking, drop a
teaspoonful of water next to them and cover the whole thing with a domed pan
lid. The resulting steam cooks the whites. The main danger to this is leaving
the lid and eggs on the grill too long and getting hard cooked yolks as a
result.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
  
      Title: Coca Cola Basted Ham
 Categories: Pork, Beverages, Breads
      Yield: 12 servings
  
      10 lb Ham *
       6 c  Coca-Cola
       1 c  Brown Sugar, Dark, Packed
       1 tb Dry Mustard
       2 tb Sharp Prepared Mustard
       2 c  Bread Crumbs, Fine, Dry
  
  * Ham should be one of the precooked hams. Not one of the
  specialty cured or canned hams. Just the standard bone in
  ham in the meat counter.

  Preheat oven to 325øF. Place ham, fat side down, in a
  shallow baking pan. Pour coke into pan until it is 1/2"
  deep. Bake 2 to 3 hours, or until ham can be easily
  pierced with a fork, basting with the Coca-Cola every 15
  to 20 minutes. (Center of ham will read 140øF on a meat
  thermometer when properly cooked.)

  Remove ham from the pan and cool. Cut away rind and fat
  with a sharp knife. Combine sugar, mustards, bread crumbs,
  and enough Coke to form a thick paste. Put ham on roasting
  rack in pan and pat all over with the paste.

  Add remaining coke to the bottom of the pan.

  Increase the temperature to 375øF and bake the ham 45 mins
  longer, basting every 20 to 15 minutes until sugar-mustard
  paste has melted to a dark glaze.

  Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes before slicing.
