Before I retired I knew a guy who had lived in England after we did.
Before he left, he had established residence in Florida.  When he came
home he had the government move his household goods to his Florida
residence.  In order to do that, he had to agree to continue working for
at least another year.  So, he commuted from Florida to Maryland for the
next year.  Fly up, work ten days worth over two weeks, fly back for a
four day weekend or so.  He accumulated a *LOT* of frequent flyer miles.
He also saved a bundle of money by doing that.   Florida does not have
any income tax, and Maryland does -- even to wages and profits earned
while living in England if one was a Maryland resident when you went
over there.

Gail and I went out to an early dinner tonight to a place called T-Bonz
(not to be confused with a restaurant chain of the same name in the
Carolina's).  On Monday night they have a special on hamburgers at half
price, plus during happy hour they have half price buffalo wings.  We
had wings and two half pound burgers each with a side dish plus two
drinks for a grand total of $20 before tip.  The wings were large, well
done and moderately spicy hot sauce -- as we like them.  The burgers
were flame broiled.  The waitress asked how we like them and we said
medium-rare.  Both came out with a nice crust on the outside and
pink/red meat throughout on the inside.  I had french fries -- decent.
Gail had what they call cottage fries, which are essentially thick cut
potato chips fried to a nice crispness -- quite good.

They have come to the list of contenders for best burger, especially at
$4-5 per half pound burger.

      Title: Garlic Soup with Chicken
 Categories: Garlic, Soup, Poultry, Main dish
      Yield: 8 servings
 
      1    Whole chicken, disjointed
      2    Carrots, minced
      2    Stalks celery, minced
      1 lg Whole onion
      1    Whole head garlic, broken
           Into uppeeled cloves
           Chopped fresh parsley
           Salt and pepper to taste
     10    Cloves garlic, peeled
      4 tb Butter
      2 tb Flour
 
  Make fresh chicken broth by simmering chicken, carrots, celery, onion,
  garlic, parsley, salt and pepper in enough water to cover.  When
  chicken is thoroughly cooked, remove it and skim fat from broth.
  Simmer broth, reducing it until it is very rich.  Remove unpeeled
  garlic cloves; squeeze cooked garlic from cloves and mash to make
  puree.  Discard skins.  In frying pan, saute the 10 peeled cloves in
  butter.  When lightly browned, add flour and small amount of broth
  and mix with a wire whisk until velvety.  Pour this mixture into the
  remaining broth, ad pureed gralic, and stir.  Tear chicken into
  bite-sized pieces and add to the soup. Sprinkle with fresh parsley
  and serve.
