The salt trucks were out again Friday;we got another couple of inches
Friday night into Saturday. This was the very light powdery stuff; with
today in the mid 40s, most of it is gone.

Yes, and the county school board is having issues over that now.  The
election last fall put in 4 (of 9) who wanted major change, along with
one who was not up for re-election. They're finding it not as easy to
work out as they'd thought it would be.

I am doing better; it was bronchitis, verging on, but not quite, going
into pneumonia.  A strong antibiotic, a steroid burst, pushing liquids,
rest and time have pretty well knocked it out.  I'm glad I had enough of
a stock of meals in the freezer that I didn't have to cook.  The soups
and things Steve got were good for when I didn't really want to, but had
to eat something.

One of my friends did it I think my junior year of college--never had it
before or since.  I was raised with maple syrup as the staple (no Aunt
Jemimah or Mrs Butterworth); it's one of the things we use as well.  We
know we're not getting any HFCS or other stuff with pure maple syrup.
