====================================================================
Hi Hap,

-> We had enough for supper, a quart into the freezer and lunch the next
-> day. Steve is going to MM it; I made it a bit different from my usual
-> version & it was really good.

 hn> Right now I have pea soup in the fridge
 hn> gr beef curry in the freezer, beef korma
 hn> in the fridge, and chicken stew in the
 hn> freezer...I should be good for the week.

Sounds it. Steve was helping a new neighbor with computer problems
yesterday; she gave us some unstuffed cabbage and mashed potatoes as
"payment". Had it for supper tonight--it was really good! Can't even
really tell there's cabbage in it.

-> hn> I can get garlic very cheap at the local
-> hn> hispanic store, 5head/$1 and that usually
->  hn> lasts me quite a while.

-> We don't have any of those in WF; I'll probably look for organic at
-> Whole Foods Market.

 hn> I like organic markets for some thing...
 hn> garlic is a root crop so I don't think
 hn> organic is quite as important there.

If there's a lot of chemicals in the ground, then I'd rather have the
organic garlic. After all, root crops get exposed to a lot more dirt
than non root ones.

-> hn> ok. I only remember being really stuffed
-> hn> on Thanksgiving and Christmas though!

-> We usually had Thanksgiving at my grandmother's--and had to have sweet
-> potatoes (with the marshmallows), turnips, limaa beans, all that stuff
-> that most of us (me & my siblings) can't stand now. I like turnips now
-> but the other 2.............I'll eat limas if I can't avoid them but no
-> way will I eat a sweet potato. We were full but not stuffed. We were
-> stuffed when we'd visit my Aunt Ruth, my dad's only sister but those
-> times weren't as frequent.

 hn> While I don't like sweet 'taters with
 hn> marshmallows I don't mind them otherwise.
 hn> and Lots of folks seem to agree with you
 hn> on the limas...they are hard to find in many
 hn> stores. Used to be able to find them canned
 hn> now you seldom see them at all and when
 hn> you do most of the time they are frozen.

I'll have to look when I go shopping; I think I've seen it in cans, but
then too, living in the south...............I know I've seen it in the
frozen secton.

 hn> Me..I like em...like turnips, like beets, Like
 hn> squash...in fact I like most foods!

I like turnips now but having them forced on me, on the same plate as
all the other nasty stuff, didn't endear them to me when I was younger.

-> -> Put it on the list, now! (G)

->  hn> I just might! (grin)

-> DON'T FORGET TO GET BALONEY!!!!!!!!

 hn> uh... I forgot!

DON'T FORGET TO GET BALONEY (BOLOGNA)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-> hn> started too early because you'll need more
->  hn> replacements down the line and that's $$$.
->  hn> It's a shame when the $ is the determining
->  hn> factor!

-> Another instance of the company being run by bean counters instead of
-> doctors! I started getting pneumonia shots some years ago & got told I
-> shouldn't get any more when I asked at a clinic this fall. Talked with
-> my doctor; no problem, got one. The problem was that they're usually
-> given to older people & I started getting them at a relatively young
-> age, but needed to because of my lungs.

 hn> Most folks don't seem to get
 hn> that Insurance companies are
 hn> FOR PROFIT companies...and
 hn> your vested interests may not
 hn> coincide with the company's
 hn> plans for profit!

As long as I have a doctor who understands my problems, I shouldn't have
any insurance battles. A skirmish here & there tho, usually resolved in
our favor, have come up but been conquered quickly.

-> hn> Your dad or your brother is resisting?

-> My brother is. Don't know if Dad is home yet and might be thinking more
-> about what Steve & I have suggested. He's probably not homme; my
-> brother said he'd e-mail us when Dad does come home.

 hn> Wonder why the brother is resisting? Maybe
 hn> he feels he's gonna be the one doing all
 hn> the work?

That could be the reason. We'd hire folks but try to get the initial
get go going while we are there.

-> Good! Some things make sense to do before there's a real need to have
-> them done.

 hn> Yep, she's enjoying things right now, still
 hn> misses Pop a lot but is getting on with life
 hn> and making the best of it. I thought she
 hn> was visiting my sister in Knoxville so I
 hn> didn't give my weekly call...so she finally
 hn> called me to see if things were allright.
 hn> I thought she was on vacation and didn't
 hn> want to disturb her! (grin)

So you just got your wires crossed. We've had that happen from time to
time too.

-> -> -> Rather frustrating since we want everybody's input on the bigger
 hn> issues.
 hn> ->
-> ->  hn> Yep, and they'll complain afterwards regardless.
 hn> ->
-> -> Of course! But action needs taking, the sooner the better.
