Hello, MICHAEL.

Tuesday March 09 2010 at 07:00, you wrote to me:

Good, I'm glad. In that case, I'm going to go through all of the message bases
and make sure all the required numbers are in where they need to be.

ML> Keep a positive attitude, and certainly something better
ML> will come down the pike.

I'll be happy with any job right now. In fact, need to go in today and check
on that. There's a few other jobs I'm going to put in for also.

ML> Reversed is good. Would the treatment for the pancreatitis
ML> improve your diabetes, or vice versa, or not?

The treatment is my taking complete control of my diabetes, basically, combined
with a much better diet and more exercise. My NP called this morning and the
A1C test I got yesterday came back with a very high result. For those that
don't know, an A1C test checks to see how much sugar is in your blood over a
three to six month period. Normal is 6% or less; mine is at 11.3%. This means
that instead of a normal blood glucose range between 110-140 mg/dL for
diabetics, mine is averaging around 330 mg/dL. I haven't yet checked my
glucose this morning (will real soon though), but that is real cause for
concern, not only for my pancreas, but for the possibility of neuropathy and
other fun stuff.

I am going to see an enderocrinologist (sp?) this week but I have a feeling
that what will be told to me is the same thing my NP told me, but I get
auto-referred to the "diabetes specialist" by the "system" when I have this
high A1C count.

Needless to say, this is the second time in a month I've had the sh-t scared
out of me.

ML> Good on BP - that's one of the more damaging things as well.
ML> They were fussing at me for 140, which back in the day used

I'm on two medications for BP-Novasac and benzoipril (sp). Seems to be a good
combo for me, but I think if I lost another 40 pounds, I'd not need those meds.

SD>> So I'm concentrating much more on my diet (hard to do when you're
SD>> broke, but I'll do it) and some exercise. My doc said she'd
SD>> like to see me lose about 20 more pounds and that would bring me

ML> We're all wishing you good luck.

Thanks. I think I've gotten the hell scared out of me enough already and it's
time to take it seriously. My poor wife's really worried as is my mom, so I
feel a little ashamed making the two most important women in my life so worried
about me, you know? But I am the only one who can make the changes, so the
onus is on me. I know I can do it; I have to want to do it. I can be really
weak-willed about things (read: procrastinator) and I think I've done myself
over good this time around.

I do have a positive attitude and know I can get things where they need to be
by just doing what's logical and using common sense, as well as portion control
and listening to all the advice I've been given.

through food mill into clean pan. Return to a simmer.

Use a tablespoon to drop dollops of Chicken Dumplings into simmering
garlic soup, creating 12 dumplings. Cover and cook 8 minutes.

  reserved vegetables and toasted bread.
