When I was courting my first wife we used to lie on her father's tiger
skin rug in front of the fire.  I eventually got used to the baleful,
disapproving expression on that tiger's face.

There was a TV feature here on Les Paul when he died.  A great player.

John Coltrane was one of my musical gods during my formative years.

I recently learnt that Shankar senior fathered a daughter (Norah
Jones) in USA, who has achieved fame in her own right as a singer.
Anoushka was born in London, and seven years later, when Ravi married
her mother, Anoushka started her musical training.  She now carrying
on the family traditions of creative sitar playing.

      Title: SPICY INDIAN-STYLE DRUMSTICKS
 Categories: Poultry
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      8    Chicken drumsticks
    1/2 ts Coarsely Ground Black
           -Pepper
      1 ts Garlic, chopped
      1 ts Crushed Bay Leaves
      1 ts Ground Mustard
      1 ts Ground Coriander
      1 ts Chilli, chopped
      3 tb Lemon Juice
      1 ts Ground Cumin
      1 tb Oil
 
  1. Combine all ingredients except drumsticks and Oil, pounding
  ingredients together to make a thick paste. 2. Roll drumsticks in
  spice mixture, using a knife to press mixture into drumsticks. 3.
  Heat oil in a non-stick pan and cook drumsticks over a moderately low
  beat for 20 minutes turning several times (or microwave with the
  fleshy ends outwards, covered loosely with a paper towel, on HIGH for
  10 minutes, turning once). Serve as a finger food at parties or with
  rice and salad as a meal. Serves 4.
