Ärende: Catching up...AGAIN! :) [1]
====================================================================
Hi Janis,

JK> > He didn't seem to. I'm afraid that one of these days he'll decide
JK> to > get up just as Mom or Dad is trying to get around/over him &
JK> knock that > parent off balance. Not a pleasant thought but might
JK> become real, with > unfortunate consequences.

JK> Yes, that could be really bad.

But, they keep him around to bark at the bears and other "guard dog"
duties."

>> Yes, it was. This was a victorian house, even older than the house
>> Ron and I are in now.. Mom's house had very big heavy oak doors.

JK> > Good, solid doors like you don't find on modern houses.

JK> Yes, that's very true! Big double doors, on the front porch. The
JK> front porch was a wrap-around, and it was so beautiful. Next time you
JK> come remind me to show you the picture I have of that house. It was
JK> taken by a photographer trying to make some money by shooting pictures
JK> of some of the grand homes in Warwick, before my parents sold the
 JK> house.

Sounds really pretty--the kind of house I dream about but will never
own in reality. Did the kitchen live up to the rest of the home?

 JK> >Poor kitty.
JK> > Never heard of a calico Manx tho. (G)

JK> Really that's so true and that is exactly what the poor kitty looked
JK> like. She was a great kitty.. I had her until I left for college. I
JK> tried taking her with me, but the landlord said no way, so back home
 JK> she went :(

I had to leave behind kitties too. It's hard but my parents appreciated
the mousekeeping the cats kid.

JK> church > building one morning--little scrap of a kitten (She fit in
 JK> Steve's
JK> > hand.) but sounded like a full grown cat.

JK> A tiny kitty with a lion roar :) I always feel bad for kittens I see
JK> on the street, and usually put out food for them.. Unfortunely there
JK> seem to be a lot of temporary residents in this area that just pack up
JK> and leave their animals :( I guess this area isn't unique in that
 JK> respect though.

No, it's gone on as long as animals have been domesticated & willkeep
going until.........................

>> If > they'd had a complaint, Inge would have been gone faster.

>> At least he let you do that, that was nice.

JK> > It was; we had her for about 8 months before we had to adopt her
JK> out. > She always knew when we'd pull out the popcorn pot--and made
JK> sure she > got her share before we could enjoy ours.

JK> hahaha I guess she figured she deserved it :)

In comic relief, most definately earned her keep!

JK> > Sam didn't mind it, especially if Deborah was the one brushing him.
JK> She > would also brush his teeth and sing duets with him. (G)

JK> That's great :) Chester had some other problems though.. he was
JK> bought at the one of the worst places you can get a dog.. at a mall
JK> pet store. I felt so bad for him, because he was 7 months old, still
JK> in the cage, and had been "marked down"... Not on sale.. marked down.
JK> Come to find out later when I called the pet store after some
JK> 'situations', the dog had been returned once already. My vet at the
JK> time told me Chester must have had a touch of distemper and he was
JK> having petit mal seizures. Poor doggy - no wonder he was so sensitive

My sister got a pet store collie one year for Christmas. Sweet dog but
not a brain in his body.

JK> to everything around him. He was on dilantin for most of his life
JK> (think we had him for about 10 years).

My parents were realising that they have had this dog for 6 years now.
He was a rescue one; my dad wishes he could claim the dog on his taxform
for medical deductions. Their last dog they had for about 18 years.

JK> > Sounds like he's let them know who's top dog in the house.

JK> I think so, but Toby can be so low status. I try to let him lead the
JK> way so he feels more important. Well hopefully, he'll at least teach
JK> the pups some manners Lol

They should pick some up from him.

Catch you later,
Ruth
