Yeah, definitely. Can you take aspirin? She can't, it irritates her stomach
too much.. now THAT one would drive me batty. I just about live on Anacin
every day. Tylenol does absolutely nothing for me unless it's one of those
prescriptions with codeine.. but the codeine affects everything else related to
MS (g).

I can't believe the docs prescribed it for her since she was on a drug they
tell you to avoid if you're taking tramadol.. but that's doc's for you.

I can take Baclofen for about a week, then it makes my legs too weak to walk..
same with topamax and geez, forget the name of the other anti-leg spasm drug
they gave me.. so I dumped them and just take anacin (g). Works better than
anything for me, but I have to take a lot of it and that's not real good for
people. This ampyra and the physical therapy are the next attempt to get
around this garbage.. we'll see (g). So far the therapy is doing well, and I
an feel somewhat of a difference in my right leg that is so bad right now.

Argh, now that is a drag. That is why I initially did not want to go on the
CRAB drugs.. knowing how many allergies existed in my family, I figured I'd
give myself a break (g). Now that I'm supposedly at "this stage", the crab
drugs are not prescribed for this stage of MS.. suits me fine (bg). LDN is
keeping the MS at bay and that works for me.

Eek.. my brother had one of those years and years ago. It was really bad. I
can understand how bad that must have felt :(

My daughter won't touch TVP.. she says it's poison (g).. I did see an article
recently saying there were some problems with it so I guess she was close :) Ah
well.. I've never had it so I can't even say what it tastes like :)

This was dinner last night, from some leftovers (g):

==Jambalaya for two==
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 legs chicken, cut into thighs and drumsticks 5 large shrimp, cut up
2 large links of hot italian sausage 1 large onion, sliced
1 small stick celery
1 cup brown rice, uncooked
3 cups chicken broth
1/4 tsp. cayenne
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. thyme
Salt, pepper to taste

The brown rice will take about 40 minutes to cook, so you don't want shrimp
cooking that long.. it won't hurt the chicken or the sausage though :) I added
the shrimp when the rice was almost done.

In a large saute pan, cook the sausage in about 2 tablespoons water, covered
for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove the lid and let it brown a
little. Slice into 1/2 inch slices and set aside. Add the chicken and brown
the pieces, then reserve the chicken pieces.

Defrost large frozen shrimp, and cut into 1/2 inch pieces and set aside.

In the sausage pan, put the butter and olive oil. Add the onions and celery
and saute for a few minutes, then add the seasonings. Add the rice and combine
well sauteing for about 5 minutes. Add the chicken legs and thighs and stir
all. Add the broth, stir once, and cover tightly for about 40 minutes. After
about 30 minutes, add the shrimp pieces and continue cooking until done.
==

The sausage I use is not very 'fatty' because it's from the farm here.. you may
not need so much olive oil and butter :)

Take care,
Janis
