cs-> He's tuckered out now.  I took him around the block today and let 
cs-> him run me ragged <g>.  I do need to learn better leash training 
cs-> skills. Meantime, if I get 'serious toned' he listens and will stop 
cs-> pulling for a moment.

Have you seen "The Dog Whisperer" on cable?

He teaches dogs on a leash to follow behind or next to him, and never 
lets them get in front.   It seems to take him only part of a walk to 
train the wildest dogs to walk quietly next to him on a leash.   

It's amazing to watch him walk into a home with a 'wild' dog and soon, 
just while he is talking to the owners, the dogs are apt to be laying 
at his feet.   He says it's all in training the Owner, not the dog.  
He teaches owners to be the pack leader, instead of the dog.

Our neighbor across the street had a Lab that jumped and jumped on 
people, in a wild frenzy, while the owners shouted and screamed at 
him to stop.  I applied the Dog Whisperers technique of holding the 
dog down and clicking my tongue at him until he stopped and sat quietly 
at my feet in his driveway.   I had Shirley do the same thing, and he 
has never jumped on us again.  He moves around me and waits until I 
reach down and touch him and then he goes wild wriggling and squirming 
for attention but he doesn't jump, and he stops as soon as I cluck and 
calm him.   It sounds like I'm exaggerating, but it was really easy.

You probably could learn a lot just by watching the show.  And it's fun 
to watch.

      Title: Bodle's Bacon Cheese Dogs
 Categories: 
      Yield: 1 Batch
 
           Hotdogs
           Sharp cheddar cheese
 
  1 Strip Bacon for each hot dog
  
  Microwave bacon on high until transparent. Do not brown or let it get
  crispy. Set aside. Time will vary depending on thickness of bacon and
  power of microwave. Starting about a 1/16 inch from the one end cut a
  lengthwise slot in each hot dog to within a 1/16 of the other end.
  Stuff the slot with cheddar cheese sliced about 1/8 to 1/4 inch
  thick. Spiral wrap each hot dog with a strip of bacon. Secure bacon
  to hotdog with a toothpick at each end. Place cheese side down on a
  hot grill for 2 minutes. Turn over and grill until bacon is browned
  and crispy. remove toothpicks before serving. Figure on 2-3 of these
  hot dogs per person. If the cheese melts and runs out, it means you
  grilled them longer than two minutes cheese side down, or you used
  processed cheese.
