Ärende: And Sew On [1]
====================================================================
Hi Ruth,

Yes, that's the truth. I can use the presser feet from either machine on the
brother.. Now on my embroidery machine, I think I could do it, but it's so
sensitive to anything, I probably wouldn't. (I have several machines that I
have done that with though). The embroidery machine will give you an error if
the bobin thread (the part you pull up) touches the presser foot. It thinks the
thread is 'broken' and reports it to you (g). It's easy to fix, just move the
thread, but I noticed that happening.
>> I like the brother a lot.. I wish singer would incorporate the
>> thread-cassette and auto-threading features that the brother has :) :)

From what I've read (I've wondered the same thing (vbg)), yes, you can but it's
"not pretty".. i.e., it's tricky to get to work, and you have to have an
additional thread holder.. you know, the kind that stands alone.. you still
have to get the cassette to "see" the thread as well. Sound like a real PIA.
>> Singer's really stinks (grin).. You can get it to auto-thread, but

> I've seen that one. A lap top is better than a desk top. (G)
Yes, and for me, it's perfect. I have no need of a lap top otherwise so I can
totally dedicate it to the embroidery machine.. also, it does make it really
easy to download addtional embroidery patterns on the fly.

>> Yes, I hear that as well..

I know.. it's crazy when you hear about it. I can't understand it. It's just
"following directions" afterall.. it's not like you have to figure out what to
do :) :) I'm afraid that says more about our educational system...
>> I bet that was so good :) Wish we had them around here (bg)
> Good but too many calories for a regular basis.
I guess it is a fatty meat and with the bread, etc.... Still, I don't know
why, but most things like that don't put pounds on me. I think my pulse is too
fast or something. I finally feel like a human being after not being able to
gain weight most all of my life. And that I guess is the getting 'older' that
most people hate. :( For most of my life I probably looked more anemic
than 'regular' people - someone asked me once if I was bullemic (laugh). Just
couldn't and didn't gain weight. When you saw me at the picnic, I was just so
skinny because of the Topamax I was taking (it's a known side effect). I think
if I was lucky, I was about 110lbs. Right now I'm at about 120-125.

Yes, I would think frajitas would demand that seasoning.. that btw, is also one
of the things my son will eat.. mexican food ..

> Agreed but they're good for you. Comic relief if not anything else. (G)
(laugh) I will not tell you about the field mice that the cats bring in from
outside, and that the puppies steal away.. YUCK!!!!! (unless you want me to
haha)
>> My daughter decided to wear one of my aunt's wedding dresses.. it was

I don't think of Arizona as humid :) I thought they were totally "dry air".. I
had some friends move there just for that reason. That and because they heard
that there weren't many allergens there (which changed after everyone brought
their plants and allergens with them from what I understand (g)).
> Finals are this week & next; I think he's working on the Hebrew one now.
I'm sure he'll do a great job on that one. It's not an easy one. A friend of
mine taught me quite a bit of hebrew long long ago. Sadly I have not retained
ANY of it. It was just too different from all the other languages I'd learned
(French, Latin, Italian, Spanish, Greek). Sadly, Italian is the one I learned
the least of in all that. Probably a mental thing (g). My parents didn't teach
us Italian because they wanted us to be like "everyone else". I can read it,
but that's about it.
>> hehe.. I do that as well.. it's something that always worked for me.
>> It was funny because Ron never could stand doing it.
> Just enough to refresh.................
That's what I tried to tell him.. but for him, it doesn't work. If he's going
to sleep, he needs LOTS of sleep (g). Maybe it's men (g).
>> > night classes to take a class that goes Friday afternoon/evening and

>> Wow.. now THAT would tire my brain out (g)
> It does! I took one the Friday & Saturday before our Sunday anniversary

And you lived through it (G)
> Since we had church plans, we went out for dinner Saturday

Most likely a well earned dinner out :) But I can understand having a hard
time staying awake after that much of a class. The 90 minute classes used to
do me in.
>> > I'll do the on line registration in a few days; then I'll know if we

> Postponed the registration until probably after finals.
Makes sense when you think about it in general. You want to make sure that
people know what prerequisites are taken care of (passed).

>> That's interesting :) Binghamton NY fare is spreading a bit (grin)..

> They are good, at least the ones that Michael made. We liked the lamb

To make a real spiedie, you really have to marinate the meat overnight..And you
essentially do that in a 'salad' based dressing. It's not hard to do, but it's
tricky to get the exact type flavor.
I'm no good at it (g)
Take care,
Janis
