CS> Survey for air matresses and electric/battery pumps (We have 2 queen
CS> ones, have to find the pump) plus one double and one single futon (if
CS> driving up, could bring all).

Might or might not need them for the camps, they are pretty well
appointed... But wouldn't hurt to have such for any overflow above what
the existing beds are. :) Depends on how many would be coming, I think.

 CS> Parking? Bathrooms/showers?

Between our camp property and the Peters property, I think we'd have
enough room for parking. The other campowners are pretty friendly,
too... no restricted parking up there, as long as it doesn't get too
muddy (which it shouldn't be, any time we'd be having a picnic there).
As the time gets closer, we can figure out how many vehicles we'd need
to have spots for, but I don't really anticipate a problem there.

The Peters camps have fully working bathrooms, complete with showers,
maybe even tubs...? Until her parents died, Linda and family were
living in the now-rental camp for the warm months of the year (Florida
for the winter). So it's pretty civilized... unlike our camp, which is
more primitive, the water pipes having burst the winter after the last
summer the previous owner had been there (the nephew that turned on the
water didn't think to close up properly for winter), and in which we
only stay for at most a couple of weeks at a time, usually less
nowadays... There's a bathroom in each of the rental camps, since
sometimes they rent them out separately, the main camp and the loft over
the garage one. Of course, there's also always the Pond... (G)

CS> Things needed would go on a list of those driving up I think, to bring
CS> in with them. Like, I have 2 large coleman coolers. I could bring
CS> fresh food that has to be kept cold if driving up.

And that sort of thing sorts itself out in the actual planning throes,
leading up to the picnic itself, I've seen... :)

CS> Is there fishing there? If so, fill me in! Don would love that!

Yes. There is bass, perch, trout, pike, bullhead... some of it the
Association has stocked over the years, some has been there for ages...
Some of the campowners are avid fisherfolk... :) I'm not, I just know
what I remember from people talking, and from handling the finances for
the BPA (I've been treasurer for a number of years now). Boyd Pond is a
kidney-shaped lake, about a mile or so long, and about a half-mile wide
(depends on where one measures it, of course)... Spring-fed, no inlet,
an outlet (where we've built a weir to help keep fish in and do a little
waterlevel control) that flows eventually to the Grasse River (which
flows into the St. Lawrence)... It has some fairly deep spots that stay
quite cool, the surface warms up nicely with good warm sunny days. I
think that Linda said that the use of (some of) their boat(s) goes with
the rental. Not sure exactly what they have. My b-i-l has a canoe and
a rowboat that we generally have access to (their camp is next-door to
ours).

As for getting there... I think the closest big airport is Syracuse.
Watertown may have a puddle-jump one, Ogdensburg does (international
because it's across the Seaway/river from Canada). And there are the
little private fields around, but I doubt they would be very useful. ;)
I-81 gets one well into the region, Rts 3 and 11 will get one close. We
aren't all that far from Fort Drum, in fact the routes in either skirt
or cross it. The actual getting all the way in to the camp gets a
little convoluted, but isn't all that impossible... (G) We are well
into woods, one side of the pond is still "forever forest", and there
are about 50 camps around the pond.
