========================
Hi Nancy,

RH> But we don't have that much room in the house. Under the bed is
RH> occupied, our suitcases go into the rented storage unit when we're not
RH> traveling (and I don't want to put books there), etc, etc.

NB> Daddy got very creative. Put up shelf boards over the tops of the
NB> windows, blocked windows by putting bookcases in front of them (I

We're in a rental house so don't want to put a lot of heavy duty hanger
holes in the walls. Steve is talking about blocking the window in the
computer room; he genreally keeps the blinds closed and the light on so
it wouldn't make too much of a difference in lighting.

NB> don't generally recommend that one unless one doesn't mind if their
NB> house gets rather dark... [g]), lined the walls of the hall... He

We have shelves in the hall already.

 NB> also took over
NB> the bedrooms as the kids moved out... (G)

We don't have that option; it's a 3 bedroom house. The master bedroom
was kept as our bedroom; one of the other bedrooms became the computer
room/library/office. The other is my sewing room; Steve plans to move
the book shelves out of it this summer to give me more work room. Both
of the latter rooms are about 10'x10'.

NB> took 3rd (out of NB>> Good for him. :) And if she still has the
NB> cookbook, he'll probably NB>> enjoy doing things from it. Didn't you
NB> say that he enjoyed helping NB>> you cook while you were out there?

RH> He sure did! I bought a copy of the LLLI cookbook for kids recently
RH> to give to him. Got his mom Dr. Dobson's "Bringing Up Girls" to go
RH> with the "Bringing Up Boys" I gave her several years ago.

NB> He should enjoy that... And Mom should find the books helpful, too.
 NB> :)

Figured she would have some reading time once school gets out for the
year in about a week. (G) She's talking about keeping up with Robert's
karate and piano lessons and getting him into swimming lessons again
this summer.

NB> got RH>> enough to keep me busy far longer than our time left in Wake
NB> NB>> That's pretty much the rationale that got me out of the
clubs... NB> :)

RH> That and having to return the reply card by such & such a date. On
RH> line wa still a new idea, 1-800 was a PITN.

NB> For some clubs, I talked them into making me a Preferred Customer,
NB> where I didn't have to return a reply card, but could just order
 NB> whenever I
NB> decided to. It usually was on the heels of having repeatedly been
NB> returning unwished-for merchandise for a few months running, and/or
NB> having difficulties with my postal carrier actually delivering the
NB> club bulletins on time FOR me to get them back in good time. 1-800
 NB> worked
 NB> for me... ;)

I'd just rather buy what I want, when I want, from wherever I want.
Last night we went down to Carrabba's in Raleigh for supper. Afterward,
Steve went to Staples and I went to A.C.Moore (like Michael's or Hobby
Lobby).  Looks like they're expanding their cake decorating department;
I may pick up some things in that area. I like the disposable
decorating bags for other filling things, like manicotti. Anyway,
besdes that, in the quilting department, they had a couple of books I
was interested in but didn't buy. I did buy an LED book light for the
sewing area & got a 50% off any item coupon. So, next week, I'll get
one with that and Steve will get the other one with the 40% off coupon
from the Sunday ad. (G)

Catch you later,
Ruth
