Very true.  And even the supermarket (produce section vs canned goods
aisle, of course) is much better than fast food places...  ;)

Ok, choose from:  Thai, Indian, Chinese buffet, Chinese, Japanese.  We
have a favorite place for each of those...  :)

OK... I did check it out, as I told Steve... nice enough place, but I
can understand not wanting the extra driving.  To tell the truth, since
I'll be just coming back from the Pond, I'll be pretty well "driven
out", too.  :)   Someday I think we'll go down there anyway, since it
did seem like a very nice place, and I'll probably have lunch there
again with my friend in any case.  :)

Guess it could be partly that most of what's left isn't into going to a
restaurant to get German food... they'll do that at home, so they want
to eat other stuff when they go out...?   And there aren't enough other
people interested in the cuisine in the larger population areas to keep
it going, maybe.  I just read in Sunday's paper of a cluster of a
different ethnic cuisine flourishing in a small town that is pretty much
mostly known for being a "nothing" area... but recent immigrants (from
Europe) have opened up little cafe-type places...
