We had a nice cool, wet day yesterday.  It only got up to 90.  Today was
sunny but muggy.  No rain in WF but it kept looking like it.  The rest
of the week will be pretty good; the humidity is supposed to drop.


 RH> Are they all the same type of pepper?

 DS> All four plants are the same -- some sort of red bell pepper.

I suspect hand fertilising will be the key to getting fruit to set.

It's a milder version. Steve bought the spicy version at the Indian
store; I went for the milder.  It's nice that I can taste it without
butning my mouth but get some heat.

Steve picked up stuff to make a couple of Italian fatties (Italian
sausage, bacon, provelone and spinach) tonight at Harris Teeter.  They
had Smithfield bacon on special--buy 2, get 3 free. Big change from
someone who wouldn't eat pork a couple of years ago. (G)  They'll be
smoked tomorrow.

For those that don't know--fatties are a big thing on one of the
smoking meats forums.  One form of them is made with sausage rolled
around a filling and a woven "sheet" of bacon is wrapped over that
before smoking.

One of our favorite seafood places in Savannah sprinkles this on their
shrimp and grits--yummy. We're postponing our trip to GA for a few
weeks; Steve had surgery for an ingrown toe nail & recovery has been
rougher than he anticipated.
