Yup!  It's all gone now.  When it cools a bit more, I can second crop some
lettuce easy enough.  Say, late August?

We've dropped to mid-low 90's this week.  I think it's settled that if we
have a summer picnic, needs to be North or West.  Janis's place was perfect
for a July/August.  It may seem hot to her, but that is relative.  Last week,
we had 2 heat index days over 115F.  The rest were cooler at a mere
107F-110F heat index (grin).  You probably get the same being fairly coastal.
 No such thing as a 'dry heat' here.

Lowes is a grocery where you are?  Odd!  Here it's a big box hardware store. 
10% discount for all military (not advertized, have to ask but you get it on
everything, even a pack of gum at the checkout).

Krogers here is across that big street from Harris Teeters.  Come to think of
it, there is a Farm Fresh south down Rosemont across Holland.  Pretty close
too.  About 2.5 miles, just in a direction I rarely go.  Food Lion there too
and some other big box type place (Big Lots?).

Got delayed.  Couldnt find her SSN card so had to order a new one.  Once she
has that, she has to have 45 hours driving time (12 at night) before she can
take her test.  Oddly, schools charge 200$ for the driving part.  Instead, we
are using a professional outfit in town that will pick her up and give 22
hours (2 students per car, counts for 11 hours each) and they also do the DMV
test at the end.  She gets a certificate and just files that.  No test at the
DMV.  She can also take classes in commercial truck or bus driving there
later which is a spiffy easy job skill.  Cost is 350$ so for 150$ more, she
gets much better than some HS football teacher in the off season.  For 50$,
they do 'one on one' training if she's having problems (door to door serice
too!).
