Catching up here too, first ones to me then backlog.

We know that. People here have a brain! That fellow was just being stupid.

Grin, it can be 100F here and raining. Humidity count at this season for me
is normally close to 80%. Because of it, temps tend to be announced by 'heat
index' as in 'how hot you feel' vice real temps which can be 10-15F lower.

I even had a heat index thermometer for a bit several years ago. Electronic
thing, tests humidity and actual temp (didnt account for windchill so was just
an estimate). Lost it in the move someplace. Battery wasnt replaceable so
would be dead anyways if it resurfaces. Interesting though to see the 2
columns. Only in winter or near it, were they close to one another.

Yeah, go visit the DIL! Darwin will be much warmer!

Thats about what Janis is running. I'm more the 40-45C levels here (before
heat index?). The radio station I listen to when driving often adds in the C
value 'and for those more used it it, the temp today is a high of 41C'.

Today is perfect though. 32C. Turned off the AC and opened the house up.
(for the rest, low-mid 80's). Got ceiling fans in 2 rooms going and a few
stand up fans here and there because there is little breeze.

We had a bad scare here Thursday night. 2 fronts met right here. Fort story
area just north of me (Steve and Ruth, Asian market area) and Lynnhaven Mall
(1 mile away from my house) had funnel clouds and massive lightning and winds
with sidewise rain ripped through. No actual tornado touch downs but we were
hunkered in the hall for a bit and I didnt let anyone in the sunroom for fear
of that huge tree in the backyard.

So starts the season for us here. September is the dangerous one
(hurricanes). 2003, when I was in Japan was proof of concept that you can
not evacuate the area. They tried and all outbound roads blocked before they
could do it effectively. I think that's when they set up the evac barriers
Dale noticed whrn here. All roads flip outbound only, up to Richmond (using
also the inbound lanes as outbound). I believe Richmond beltway all goes one
way as well to handle the influx?

The highest population city in Virginia, is Virginia Beach. The population
of Hampton Roads (5 main cities, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth,
Virginia Beach: all southside, then Hampton and newport News northside)
combined can equal, exceed, or stand fairly close to other more notable
'large thought of' population centers.

A Cat2 here would very bad. Very very bad.
