-> big time that night.  Anyway, that market had the ginseng tea in the

He got some in (tea) bags at Whole Foods Market today.  Have to keep
looking for metal tins.

-> Trashed. Got a couple smaller ones--one striped, one regular at the
-> farmer's market yesterday.  Tomorrow night we'll do a side by side taste
-> test; both will be dredged in flour, egg & bread crumbs, then fried. I'm
-> not expecting too much of a difference in taste.

 RH> I threw some in a pan tonight with onion, garlic, and jarred spaghetti
 RH> sauce.  It wasn't quite cooked enough for me, but it tasted good.

Kind of crisp-tender? That's how I cooked them yesterday.  No real
difference in taste between the regular purple and the purple & white
striped.

-> Want to do the same to Steve's if this doesn't work? (G) It could get
-> expensive now that he doesn't see military doctors anymore.

 RH> Just let the sucker get a little infected and it'll pop loose just

It did get a bit infected but doing better now.  Doctor wants to see him
back in 3 weeks.  We'll see if this is the final time the toe is worked
on in Steve's life time. (G)

-> He's eating pork now.  Just took a while to get over the phobia. Moving
-> back to eastern NC bbq may have cured it. (G)

 RH> The scent of slow-roasted piggy would cure a vegetarian.(G)

Some people are of that opinion.  I've not been a total vegetarian so
not had to try that experiment. I did have to eat lots of bbq in lots of
places in my quest to find another place as good as eastern NC bbq. (G)

-> I like it; Steve's not as fond of it but he's not too crazy for okra
-> either.  Coated in corn meal & fried is the best way to serve it (other
-> than pickled).

 RH> I could go for that.  I've had it in Indian food too; it was great.
 RH> No clue what they did to it, but there was no slime.

Sounds good to me.  It's also good in a mix of tomatoes, corn & okra
(found canned in grocery stores), with a bit of sausage and served over
rice.

-> Upstate is so much nicer! Our preaching pastor & his dad went to the
-> Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony/HofF last week.  They're from
-> GA so were nicely surprised at how pretty the countryside in NY is. (G)

 RH> (chuckle) You're preaching to the converted.  My grandmother came from
 RH> up that way, and my mother has cousins all over the place.

Steve and I grew up there so it's a "no brainer" for us.

-> One can be stopped easier than the other--guess which one.

 RH> No need.  Husbands are actually easier to train in some respects.

A discreet poke with the elbow into ribs while telling him to roll over
usually worked for me before Steve got his CPAP machine. (G)


-> I was thinking of the gummy worms. They're pretty flexible too.

 RH> They ought to be; they're made of pectin, gelatin, or something
 RH> similar.  I love gummy peaches, but will cheerfully eat a worm or
 RH> three.

Probably without the sound effects a 5 year old Deborah did once. "She
bit off my head, ow--that hurts" and so forth.  Steve had a hard time
driving, he was laughing so hard.
