Here the driving school cars have a sign on the roof that can be seen
at a distance, to give a warning to other motorists.   It is allowable
for family members to teach kids, with just an "L" plate fore and aft.
My first wife refused to learn how to drive, but I taught my second
wife in the precipitous environs of the PNG Highlands.  The first
thing she had to learn was to start on a steep hill - in a
stick-shift, of course.  She only had trouble when we went back to the
Philippines and she hired a car there, which had the steering wheel on
the "wrong side", as she had learnt to sit on the right and change
gears with her left hand.

Are you sure?  According to Grolier, the Eastern Gray Squirrel,
Schiurus Carolinensis is native to America, while the smaller Red
Squirrel, S. Vulgaris, is the one being displaced in Britain by the
larger, more assertive American type.  That is what the TV program
said. I have seen the USAn ones, but I can't remember their colour.  I
was surprised to see squirrels in Sumatra, but they were striped.

That is the sort of thing that happens here sometimes with 'roo
shooters.  There are a couple of albino 'roos in one of our wildlife
parks that MLoo visited when he was here.  He hand-fed these tame
ones, then dined on one of their relatives that evening.

      Title: Rogan Josh (Curried Lamb with Yoghurt)
 Categories: Pakistan, Lamb, Afghan
      Yield: 2 Servings
 
     50 g  Ghee or melted butter
    1/2 md Onion
    1/2 kg Boned lean lamb
    1/8 l  Yoghurt
    1/4 ts Saffron threads
     25 g  Slivered almonds

MMMMM--------------------MASALA (SPICE PASTE-------------------------
    1/2 lg Onion
  1 1/2 cl Garlic
  1 1/2    -Inch piece of fresh ginger
    1/2    Sprig coriander leaves
    1/2    Mint sprig
      1    Green chillies
    1/4 ts Turmeric
    1/2 tb Whole coriander seeds
      1 ts White poppy seeds
    1/2 ts Whole black cumin seeds
      2    Cloves
    1/4    Inch piece of cinnamon
      3    Cardamom pods
     12    Blanched almonds
    1/2 ts Salt
 
  Chop the onions fine. Cut the lamb into 1/2x2-inch pieces. Soak the
  saffron threads for 20 minutes in 2 tablespoons of boiling water. Fry
  the almond slivers lightly. Peel and chop the ginger.
  
  Heat half the ghee or melted butter in a large saucepan. Add the
  medium-sized onion and fry, stirring occasionally, for 8 minutes or
  until it is golden brown. Add the meat and the yoghurt and stir to
  mix. Cover the pan, reduce the heat to low and simmer the lamb for 20
  minutes.
  
  Preheat the oven to 175C/350F/Gas 4. Meanwhile prepare the spices.
  Put all the ingredients for the space paste into an electric blender.
  Add 2 tablespoons or more of water or yoghurt and blend until the
  mixture forms a puree.
  
  Heat the remaining ghee or melted butter in a flameproof casserole.
  Add the spicepaste and fry, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Add a
  spoonful of water and stir until the butter is separated from the
  spices. Add another spoonful of water and fry for a minute. Add the
  meat and yoghurt mixture and stir to mix. when the mixture comes to
  the boil cover the pan tightly and place it in the oven. Reduce the
  heat to 140C/275F/Gas 1 and cook for 1 hour. Remove the casserole
  from the oven. Stir in the saffrom and the soaking water and the
  slivered almonds. Increase the heat of the oven to 150C/300F/Gas 2
  and return the casserole uncovered for about 30 minutes or until the
  lamb is tender. Serve hot.
