I am caught up except for today or so.

I posted a sort of one.  Janis posted a link to the AAA site for the local are
a but didnt note any commentary.

Here's what I've noted so far from web searches.  I'l add to thelist and who
booked where when i see notes on such.

I knocked off the fancy ones with higher rates and a search shows these:
(None had senior or special rates checked other than military rate for
Clarion)

Might be best pick?  81$ a night for those with an ID card, 89 for the rest
of
you (did not check senior discounts or others).  Located well with lots of
stuff in walking distance.  Taxi service within .10 miles.  Lots to eat and
do and some interesting looking watering holes <g>.  Room shave a ridge and
a microwave as well as a coffee maker.  Internet available, cable TV.

2. Days Inn Binghamton

Prices range from Clarion and up.  Upper ones have some sort of minikitchen
but the price difference isnt seeming to match and may be no more than the 
Clarion with microwave and fridge.

3. Motel 6 Binghamton #1222

49.99 but Idunno.  One of their key selling points is indoor hallways?  
Then again this is pretty far north so it may not be a safety point
but a comfort one.

55$ a night.  Seems ok, not as well located as Clarion but seems ok.  Mostly
next to fast food places best I can tell.

About same as Clarion but some variation in rooms.  'Microwave available' to
me means one in the lobby. Might be ok.
(Janis adds she's pretty sure this one is not a good pick)

I note most were on Front Street.  This is across a river to the west
of State street but mostly parallel.  I suspect from the looks, those on
Front Street would end up taking a cab or walking to State Street area for
the good eats and such.

Folks looking for 'pet friendly' will find several of these are.  Clarion is
only one of the 5 that are.  I think at least 2 of the others were as well.
