Most Japanese cookery is with simple things, not too pungent. Not too spicy.
Sure there is variation, but thats the outer edges vice the norm. Even the
dashi is so mild, if I didnt tell you it was a fish based stock, you would
probably not guess it.

I won't try to take over though with a 7 course Japanese meal <g>. The
others wanna make stuff too. I can easily put the 'odder items' to the side
so they get added to individual bowls. That way if i had octopus or
something and some felt a little squeemish at that in their soup, they could
have a bowl without it.

Kinda like 'Have it your way' sort of thing. It's a real fast and easy dish
to make and almost like a salad bar, I can set stuff to the side and add what
you like (and anything that needs cooking would be already).

You'll find lots to try! Me, I'd like you to make that pasta salad if you
can? It sounded lovely! This early folks are just picking out basic ideas
of what they will bring.

I have a few toys Janis or others wanted to see so will arrive with a trunk
filled with such, but it's just so others can play with them if they want to.
No hard feelings at all if they just look and go 'neat' but don't want to do
more. If any wanna use it, it will be there.

Sure! I think often the group just picks up the oddiments at the local area
unless they post in advance they will cover that item. Idea is Janis
shouldnt have to provide more than a place and a smile <g>.

I think last time they took up a small collection and Michael Loo used it to
get crab claw meats for a crabcake tasting? It was discussed in advance but
I lost track if they did it that way or not.

Well, something sometimes does for one or more of us but normally enough of
the group makes it to still have fun! I afterall have my command inspectin
that may keep me at work til noon or so Friday. I wont know til that week.
